The son of a music producer and a teacher, Guzman grew up immersed in the worlds of art and entertainment. At age 15, his passion for movement and film came into focus through his studies of classical ballet and his love of movies.

Ballet led him to more contemporary forms and his career as an internationally recognized dancer grew. All the while, Guzman stayed committed to developing and honing his skills as a filmmaker and editor. Over time he began to merge these two worlds he understood best by collaborating with vibrant communities of artists from all over the world to create dance made for both stage and camera. Both on and off stage, in front of or behind the camera, Guzman is an astute problem-solver, capable of prioritizing and managing complex projects with both efficiency and proficiency.

Since 2012 Guzman has served as the Artistic Associate and Resident Filmmaker for BODYTRAFFIC, a world-renowned contemporary dance company. During his tenure, he has furthered himself as a film director, overseeing documentation of live performances, making documentary-style short films, music videos, and both short and full length movies.

Open-minded and focused on new developments in his field, Guzman has proven to be effective and motivational, a critical thinker and collaborative team player, with leadership skills that enliven any project.
